What is the history behind WWE?

WWE had its start out of Capitol Wrestling in 1982 by Mr. Mahon and has since developed into the world-recognized event it is today. During its first years, big name wrestlers brought the company to life with consistently incredible competitions. In 1984, Hulk Hogan won the WWE championship, and Roddy Piper insulted Jimmy Snuka, which created a longstanding rivalry between Hogan and Piper. Many famous wrestlers, including The Rock, The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Mr. T. and Andre the Giant, made WWE history between 1980 and 2000. This was a major development era when the WWE gained world-wide recognition. After 2000, John Cena, Batista and Triple H continued to bring excitement and fans to WWE.
