League: NCAA Division I
Home Games: Wisconsin Field House
Head Coach: Kelly Sheffield
Championships: Seven Big Ten regular-season championship appearances
''The women's volleyball section of the Wisconsin Badgers sports enterprise has origins that go back as far as 1974. Over the decades, several head coaches have shaped the various rosters into a volleyball force that consistently ranks high among Division I participants. Former Head Coach John Cook led the Badgers to a great overall record of 30-3 for the 1997 season, the first one in which the team made it to the Elite Eight. The Badgers would later break this record in 2014 under Coach Kelly Sheffield with a season record of 31-3. The team has faced some tough opponents in the past, but most seasons for the Badgers garner enough victories to place the team high in the rankings. Each game brings excitement for both fans of the home team and opponents eager to see their favorites take on the Badgers. Grab your Wisconsin Badgers women's volleyball tickets now at StubHub.'

Kelly Sheffield is the current head coach for the Badgers women's volleyball team. In his time as the head of the team, he has led it to seven consecutive appearances in NCAA tournaments at the Sweet 16 level or higher. Both 2013 and 2019 saw the Badgers compete in national matches with the help of Sheffield. His first season with the Badgers saw a marked improvement over the prior one thanks to an 11-win improvement. Sheffield previously coached at
Dayton University
for five years before coming to Wisconsin.

The women's volleyball team calls the
Wisconsin Field House
its home. Sometimes simply known as the UW Field House, this venue hosts some of the university's sporting events, concerts and large gatherings. Although the Field House didn't open its doors until 1930, the university's history of supporting sports programs goes back to the 1800s. The building's current capacity sits at 7,052. However, the seating area for the venue has been larger in the past. A dedication ceremony and inaugural basketball game saw 9,000 fans in attendance. Volleyball has a rich history in Wisconsin. In 2007, the Badgers played its first-ever sellout game against the
Nittany Lions
from Penn State.

Fans seem to love seeing the women's volleyball team at Wisconsin in action. In 2019, the Badgers set new attendance records for the season. The Badgers played to sold-out crowds for all 17 of the home games for that season. It's clear that consistent results and good coaching draw volleyball fans from all over to see the team at work. Only
Nebraska
