The Huskies ended their regular season with a disappointing ninth-inning collapse against Stanford; the Cardinal scored three times in the ninth to claim a 6-5 win and drop UW to 30-23 on the season. The setback also kept the Huskies from sharing the Pac-12 title with Stanford. Afterwards, the Huskies snuck onto the NCAA Baseball Tournament field, where luckily they began to erase all doubts, beating Connecticut twice 7-1 and 9-6 and Coastal Carolina once 11-6. A best-of-three series win over Cal State Fullerton, which concluded with a dramatic extra-inning victory, followed to send the Huskies to Omaha, Neb. Although the team’s CWS stay was a short one, ending with defeats by Mississippi State and Oregon State, it marked an incredible culmination to a historic campaign.'
