Walt Disney Concert Hall
The Walt Disney Concert Hall stands out as a unique building in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. Designed by Frank Gehry, its stainless steel exterior has sweeping curves and interesting angles. Inside, there are 2,265 seats, and from any of these spots, the sound from the stage is deep and rich. The concert hall opened on 2003, and it's home to the
Los Angeles Master Chorale
and the
Los Angeles Philharmonic
orchestra. Part of the construction funds was donated by Lilian Disney, wife of Walt Disney. She donated $50 million in 1987 and got the ball rolling on the initial stages. Many more millions were donated by the family and The Walt Disney Company in subsequent years. To watch performers take the stage, pick up Walt Disney Concert Hall tickets at StubHub.

With this prime downtown location, the concert hall is surrounded by a range of eateries, ranging from small, family-owned restaurants to fine dining establishments. If you want to save some time, grab a bite to eat or a quick drink at one of the places in the music complex. The Walt Disney Concert Hall Cafe serves salads, sandwiches, cookies, cheese plates, beer and wine plus select hot food items. Many of those lighter items can be purchased at one of the intermission bars in the hall. For a more substantial meal, check out the acclaimed Patina Restaurant or Upstage Burger. Patina is located within the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the burger joint overlooks the exterior of the hall from its spot on the Plaza Level.
The organ's facade was also designed by Frank Gehry, with consultation from an organ designer. Some of its wooden pipes are curved, making for an impressive backdrop behind the center stage. In total, there are 6,125 pipes, and the organ can be played with a detached, portable console. With Walt Disney Concert Hall seats, you'll have nice views of the organ.
