Fate was working its magic when Wardt van der Harst and Willem Van Hanegem were first introduced. They initially met in the flesh at Trance Energy 2007. But before that, they were brought together in cyberspace. We originally met through the Internet. There is a program where you can chat and share music with other beginning producers and in 2007, we met in person at Trance Energy, Van Hanegem said. Van der Harst added, It was through a mutual friend who was there as well. We started hanging out and after six months, we started working on our first track, as we got closer we started working together more.
They launched their careers by developing their own respective material with tracks like Show my Shuffle, Origin, Stab My Speaker and Ensure. Their chance encounter at Trance Energy laid the groundwork for their first W and W effort, Mustang. Dome and Arena arrived after, getting them noticed by trance A-listers like Sander Van Doorn & Judge Jules, Tiesto, Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten. W and W was given a nod by Armin van Buuren as the best up-and-coming production duo out there.
Trance Energy 2008 included Sander van Doorn spinning W and W's Mustang. Fueled by its floor response, W and W then became DJs. They gigged at A State Of Trance 400 as well as Poland's Sunrise Festival.
