Brian O'Connor became the head coach for the Virginia Cavaliers just before the 2004 season. While it's common for coaches to get off to a slow start when they first take over a program, O'Connor immediately won an impressive 44 games and guided the Cavaliers to the postseason, finishing second in the ACC.
