The Vancouver Canadians is a minor league baseball team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is affiliated with the
Toronto Blue Jays
and also acts as a developmental program for players wishing to join the MLB. As of 2020, it's the only Canadian minor league team associated with a
MLB
major league club. There are eight other teams in the Canadians' league, which are mostly based in the northwestern United States. In 2007, local businessmen Jake Kerr and Jeff Mooney purchased the Vancouver Canadians. At the time, a 25-year deal was signed with the City of Vancouver Parks Board that was followed by extensive renovations of the home ground. The same year, the Canadians became a Class A-Short Season affiliate of the Blue Jays, which helped increase attendance to more than 200,000 for the season. The team has won many titles throughout its history. Since the mid-'80s, it has won 10 division titles and seven league titles. The performance of the players improved as the Candians became affiliated with the

Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, located near Queen Elizebeth Park, is the official home of the Vancouver Canadians. It's a 6,500-capacity stadium that is owned by the city. Between 2007 and 2012, the stadium underwent a significant renovation to upgrade public facilities and improve architectural features. Some sections of the ballpark were restored to their original 1951 condition. In 2008, a museum was erected on its premises, which showcases the achievements and the history of the teams associated with the ballpark.
