About the Utah Hockey Club

Founded in 2024, the Utah Hockey Club joined the NHL as an expansion team in the Central Division of the Western Conference and are playing their first season in 2024-2025. The team is owned by Ryan Smith, who also owns the NBA’s Utah Jazz. He acquired players, coaching staff, and draft picks from the Arizona Coyotes who were ceasing operations. The team’s name and colors are temporary place holders, and they plan to have a permanent identity in place to begin the 2025-2026 season.
