''The USC Trojans women's basketball team, also known as the Women of Troy, has an extensive record of wins in regular and tournament play. The team has won numerous championships, including two NCAA Tournaments in 1983 and 1984. Although appearing in quite a few tournaments, the Trojans had a few small spells of no appearances between 1998 and 2011. Despite those failures to appear, the Trojans have regularly had at least one player receive honors in the Pac-10 awards since the early 1980s. Cynthia Cooper was one of those players. During her tenure at USC, she helped lead the women of Troy to back-to-back national championships. Also coming out of USC was Tina Thompson, who was a force to be reckoned with during her four years at the school. She became a leading scorer while playing for the Trojans and would eventually join the WNBA, where she would earn many accolades and victories.
