US Open Cup Tickets

The US Open Cup is an intriguing knockout competition that involves 100 teams, ranging from the 23 US-based Major League Soccer (MLS) teams to amateur clubs such as Newtown Pride FC. It is played over eight rounds with 11 MLS teams joining in the third round and the remaining 12 in the round that follows. Although MLS teams generally rise to the top, shocks occur too. In 2019,

New Mexico United

eliminated MLS teams Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas en route to the quarterfinals. In 2008, the Charleston Battery became the most recent non-MLS team to advance to the final. The Rochester Rhinos took it one step further in 1999, lifting the trophy. They are the only non-MLS team to do so since the MLS teams began playing in the US Open Cup in 1996. This event allows fans of non-MLS clubs opportunities to dream of taking down some giants in American soccer. It also provides another trophy-winning opportunity for MLS teams.
