An English singer, songwriter and actor, Tony Hadley first entered the limelight in the 1980's as lead singer of the band known as Spandau Ballet. The band achieved international success with hits including, Through the Barricades, Gold and True. In 1992, Hadley recorded the solo album The State of Play. His musical style has been described as fitting into every genre from jazz and new wave to blue-eyed soul and pop. Many, however, have declared Hadley to be one of the top crooners in the current era, though Hadley is not limited to musical performances. While Tony Hadley first experienced stardom with the band Spandau Ballet, the band dismembered in 1989. This freed Hadley to explore a solo career as a musician and explore other talents including acting, writing, radio hosting and theater performances. After recording his first solo album under the label EMI, he created his own record company known as SlipStream Records. Under his own label, he released the single Build Me Up, which was included in the soundtrack for the movie When Saturday Comes. By 1997, Hadley released his second solo album, Tony Hadley, and in 2001, he recorded a live album known as Obsessed Live. In 2006, he made a jazz album dubbed Passing Strangers. In 2007, he appeared in the theater production of the musical Chicago and later in the movie Shoot the DJ and the show I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. By 2009, the band Spandau Ballet reformed and toured in the UK and Europe, but Hadley later parted ways with the band again. Hadley released The Christmas Album in 2015 and continues to perform music with various 80's bands and artists.
In additional to his musical and acting career, Hadley had experienced success as a radio presenter and reality television participant. He regularly hosts the radio show Saturday Night Virgin Party Classics and has appeared in reality show competitions such as Pinoy Dream Academy and Reborn in the USA. In 2003, he was declared the winner of the Reborn in the USA competition after competing against other musicians including Elkie Brooks and Peter Cox.
