This Will Destroy You (also known as TWDY), an alternative pop-rock instrumental band from Texas, are bringing their ambient, effects-laden sound to the live stage at venues across the nation. With four critically acclaimed albums and three EPs to their name, This Will Destroy You creates setlists that draw upon an ample body of work. Add to this over a decade of live stage experience performing for crowds across North America, Europe, Australia and beyond. Fans anticipating This Will Destroy You tour dates know they're in for an incredible music experience as the band showcases their signature wall of sound, made of slow-burning buildups, wailing guitar effects and sweet, simple melodies, especially for live audiences' enjoyment.
Guitarists Chris King and Jeremy Galindo, drummer Andrew Miller and bassist Raymond Brown came together to form This Will Destroy You around 2005 in San Marcos, Texas. They initially recorded their debut EP, Young Mountain, as a demo, but later released it as-is to some positive attention from critics. Following its release, This Will Destroy You soon signed a contract with a record label.
In 2007, This Will Destroy You had their first full-length studio album in the works. This Will Destroy You, which the band recorded at Willie Nelson's Texas studio, came out in 2008 to critical acclaim. A track from the album, The Mighty Rio Grande, is notable for later featuring on the soundtracks for the movies Moneyball (2011) and Room (2015).
Also in 2008, This Will Destroy You gained a new bassist in Donovan Dono Jones, and toured across Europe. They also recorded an EP, Field Studies, in collaboration with previous U.S. tour-mates, Lymbyc Systym. Another lineup change followed with the replacement of Miller with a new drummer, Alex Bhore.
The band released a two-song EP, Moving on the Edges of Things, in 2010, and their second TWDY-only, full-length studio album, Tunnel Blanket, in 2011. During these years, they also toured the United States supporting the Deftones, and performed at festivals and other venues in Europe.
In 2013, This Will Destroy You toured Australia for the first time, and also released the album, Live in Reykjavik, Iceland. Their fourth album, Another Language, came in late 2014, along with the single Dustism, released on the band's blog nine months later. In addition to releasing the 2017 single The Puritan, This Will Destroy You has dedicated recent years to extensive touring across the world.
