Grammy-nominated The Time Jumpers are known for country, jazz and swing standards, as well as the occasional celebrity guest stopping by to share the stage. What started out as a jam session between studio musicians has evolved into one of country music's most dynamic acts.
The Time Jumpers began their Western swing revolution in 1998. Setting up shop at the Station Inn on a quiet Monday night, the then 11-piece band saw it as an opportunity to jam with fellow musicians. Soon enough, Monday was a marquee night at the storied Nashville venue, and The Time Jumpers were offered a permanent spot on the bill.
The band released the live album Jumpin' Time in 2007, and a year later relocated their weekly performances to Nashville's 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill. Their first studio album, The Time Jumpers, arrived in 2012 and was nominated for two Grammy Awards. The debut album cracked the Top 10 on the US Heat charts.
In 2016, the band released their second album, Kid Sister, a tribute to former member Kim Sears, who died of cancer in 2014. The album climbed to the top of the U.S. Heat charts and hovered in the Top 100 of the Country charts. It also received a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album.
Vince Gill, a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, became a full-fledged member of The Time Jumpers in 2010. The vocalist/guitarist has 20 Grammy Awards of his own, to go along with 18 CMA awards.
Over their 20-year history, The Time Jumpers have shared the stage with some of country music's biggest names. During the early days at the Station Inn, stars like Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson and Kings of Leon frequently appeared on stage. The group has also appeared on albums with Miranda Lambert and Willie Nelson. Several members of the group accompanied Kacey Musgraves on her version of A Spoonful of Sugar, featured on the We Love Disney compilation.
