Written by three members of the Mischief Theatre Company that is based in West London,
The Play That Goes Wrong
is a comedy about a fictitious theater production group called the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society. The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society attempts to put on a stage production about a murder mystery that took place in the 1920s. This setting creates the possibility for comedy where the actors are acting in a play within a play. Unfortunately, for this theater group, everything that could go wrong for their murder mystery production does go wrong in a rather spectacular fashion. As a climatic highlight of the show, the very stage set seems to have been built up to become a live antagonist of the production. Comedy then ensues as the theater group desperately and bravely tries to save the night and carry the production forward.

Abrams was previously known for his work on the newer
