Based in Yorkville, Illinois, indie-folk rock group The Giving Tree Band was founded in 2004 by siblings Todd and Eric Fink. The band's sound has often been paralleled to music legends Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Beatles and The Band. Growing up, the Fink brothers were influenced by their piano-playing father, who introduced them to The Kinks and The Rolling Stones. As a result, the Fink brothers acquired a taste for songwriting. Stone Samadhi was formed by the brothers to polish their musical technique. The band was self-described by Eric as high energy, really weird jazz stuff. Stone Samadhi split in 2003. The Fink brothers chose to focus on more lyric-oriented music in country and folk genres. The Giving Tree Band was born from this decision. Looking to see The Giving Tree Band live?
