The Echo

'The Echo - An Indie Performance Venue in Los Angeles'

'This nightclub and concert venue located in Los Angeles's Echo Park neighborhood features a wide range of performances in a variety of genres. Describing its own booking policy as adventurous, The Echo is conscientious about changing up the lineup with a healthy mix of both national acts and local talent.'

'The Echo History'

'The Echo and its sister club, the Echoplex, both opened in 2001. Since then, they've been rocking the Echo Park neighborhood (and the rest of Los Angeles) with a steady rotation of indie acts and the occasional major name.'

'The Echo Events'

'

The Echo makes it its mission to support indie artists, bringing lesser-known talent to its stage and giving it the spotlight. Thanks to its Monday Night Music residency program, the Echo has done its part to boost the careers of many well-known musicians. Among the acts that can credit the Echo with their successful launch are Foster the People, The Airborne Toxic Event, ActiveChild, Hanni El Khatib and War Paint.

Although the Echo focuses primarily on indie bands, it also occasionally hosts much more national acts with far-reaching name recognition. Some of its past shows featured performances by the Rolling Stones, Beck, Skrillex, Green Day, Atoms for Peace, Nine Inch Nails, LCD Soundsystem and Incubus.

When it isn't hosting concerts, the Echo sometimes hosts spoken word nights, wine tastings and a variety of other special events.

'The Echo Seating Layout'

'

The Echo is a cozy venue, featuring a capacity of just 350. This means fans can get up close and personal with their favorite touring and local bands. The experience is so intimate that many fans feel as if they're listening to their favorite bands from their own living room.

'Los Angeles, California'

'

As long as you're in the City of Angels, you may as well take advantage. Spend the day at Universal Studios Hollywood or Disneyland, find your favorite actor's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or drive somewhere where you can get the perfect view of the famous Hollywood sign. If the city's driving you a little crazy, get out of town and take a scenic hike in Griffith Park or walk along the beach near the Santa Monica Pier. Sports fans may be interested in seeing the Dodgers play ball at nearby Dodger Stadium or checking out a game at one of the other athletic venues in the city.

Looking for other great opportunities to listen to top-notch live music? Check out the Echo's sister club, the Echoplex, just downstairs. But that's just the beginning. Other venues that shouldn't be missed include the Hollywood Bowl, the Fonda Theatre and Royce Hall at the University of California Los Angeles.
