The Cher Show
is the Tony award-winning musical chronicling the life of style icon and pop legend Cher. Starring Stephanie J. Block as Cher, the show follows Cher through her childhood in California until her meeting with Sonny Bono in 1962 in Los Angeles. Together with Sonny Bono, they launch the musical act Sonny and Cher, which later turns into a romantic relationship. The show includes performances of the duo's hits like I Got You Babe and Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down). Later solo hits featured in the show include Dark Lady and If I Could Turn Back Time. The show pays homage to Cher's status as a style icon with costumes designed by Bob Mackie.

Born Cherilyn Sarkisian in 1946, Cher grew up in El Centro, Calif. At age 16, she moved to Los Angeles, where she met Sonny Bono, a singer working for Phil Spector. The couple began singing together, and they married in 1964. Their first hit, I Got You Babe, propelled them to the top of the charts in 1965. . The show aired for 67 episodes. Cher pursued a solo career and released several top ten hits, including You Better Sit Down Kids and The Way of Love. . In 1988, she won an Academy Award for Best Actress in
