. The NBA G League was created to prepare minor league players for the NBA. The Texas Legends act as a farm team for their affiliate, the Dallas Mavericks. The Legends have had 24 players called up to NBA rosters throughout the franchise's history, with the most call-ups between 2016-2018. Having a somewhat disappointing record of 16-34 in the 2018-19 season, the Texas Legends franchise decided to make a change. The organization hired George Galanopoulos in 2019 as the new head coach for the Legends. Nancy Lieberman was hired as the first head coach of the Legends, and she was also the first-ever woman to coach professional basketball.'
