'Hailing from the Big Apple, Stephanie spent her formative years performing at some of NYC's most fundamental music institutions, including performances at the Apollo Theater, on Broadway, and at Brooklyn's Cornerstone Baptist Church. Her big break would come in the late 70s, when she picked up a major recording deal with 20th Century Fox Records and began to break into the disco music genre. Stephanie Mills fever caught on all throughout the 80s, with her releasing mega success release after mega success release that would see her constantly sitting atop the US R&B, US Pop, US Dance, and even the UK Singles charts. She eventually moved to MCA Records, where she continued to maraud the R&B genre across two continents and become one of the most widely celebrated soul gospel singers of her generation.'
