'While the team has been called the Jackrabbits for many years, South Dakota State's playing style is a near perfect match for its team name. The Jackrabbits has been one of the highest-scoring teams in all of the NCAAs for the past several years, averaging over 80 points per game in an up-and-down the court system that relies heavily on three pointers. Teams will often struggle to keep up with the Jackrabbits. South Dakota State is one of the powers in the Summit League since it joined the conference in 2007. Only twice in the team's entire tenure in the league has the Jackrabbits failed to win at least 10 games in conference play, and the team is always a threat to win both the regular season and the conference titles. The 2019-2020 season is no different as the team looks loaded yet again. Grab your South Dakota State Jackrabbits tickets at StubHub today.'
'The Jackrabbits program has had to replace its coach twice in the last four years as other schools have come calling for its coaches after program successes. After T.J. Otzelberger left for the University of Nevada Las Vegas, the Jackrabbits turned to Eric Henderson, who was an assistant coach for the team. This is Henderson's first head coaching position.'
'Mike Daum shattered practically every record in his four-year South Dakota State career. Only 10 players in NCAA history have scored over 3,000 career points, and Daum is one of them. Daum was a third-team All-American and won the Summit Conference Player of the Year three times. Before Daum, Nate Wolters held the team's scoring record before being drafted by the Washington Wizards.'
'
The Jackrabbits team has made the Big Dance five times in the program's history. South Dakota State has yet to break through and pull an upset in the first round, but the team has come close several times as it has put scares into rivals such as Maryland,
Ohio State
and
Baylor
. The Jackrabbits last played in the NCAA Tournament in 2018.
''Before moving up to Division I in 2005, the Jackrabbits was a national power in Division II. The school won a national championship at that level in 1963 and finished as the runner-up in 1985. The Jackrabbits appeared in five NCAA Division II Tournaments in a row before making the switch to Division I basketball. The school has won over 1,500 total games combined in both Divisions I and II.'
'The Jackrabbits play in the same conference as the school's in-state rival, the South Dakota Cyclones. The two teams play each other twice each season. The Jackrabbits team has gotten the better of the rivalry with a 14-5 record against the Cyclones. Another conference rival in proximity to the school is North Dakota State.'
'South Dakota State entertains its opponents at Frost Arena, which seats 6,500 for basketball. The Jackrabbits program has historically been very difficult to beat on its own home floor. For example, last season, the Jackrabbits lost only once on its home floor. The season before, South Dakota State did not lose once at Frost Arena. Rivalry games against University of South Dakota will be the most in-demand tickets at Frost Arena.'
