Sixties Spectacular
The Sixties Spectacular tour revives the spirited and memorable sounds of that era by bringing back these legendary bands: Jay and The Americans, Paul Revere's Raiders, Lou Christie and The Vogues. These groups represent the best of rock 'n' roll, and their longevity proves it. Recent performances include gigs at the State Theatre in New Jersey and the Tarrytown Music Hall in New York, as well as other locations in the United States.
These epic bands are responsible for many classic hits that still find consistent airplay. Jay and the Americans are best known for memorable songs like This Magic Moment, Come a Little Bit Closer and Cara, Mia. Paul Revere's Raiders perform songs like Good Thing, Kicks and Hungry, which are all well-known chart-toppers.
Fans best remember Lou Christie for his songs Lightnin' Strikes and Two Faces Have I, while fans recognize the Vogues for Five O'Clock World and You're the One. When put together, these four performers present an amazing evening of top-rated sixties music.
Jay and The Americans have been delighting audiences for decades. Members have come and gone, but fans still enjoy the band's unique sound.
Although Paul Revere died in 2014, his band continues his legacy, still playing in the Revolutionary War costumes made famous when they entered the music scene in 1958. Determined to honor Paul's memory, the Raiders bring their all to each performance.
Lou Christie has been offering his brand of music since the sixties and it's still going strong. He is the original, and his music reflects his status among American musical heroes.
The Vogues have their original lead singer, Bill Burkette back, and they sound better than ever. This group's music is evergreen, pleasing original fans and attracting new ones.
Many of these artists still record new music, proving that rock 'n' roll never dies.
This rollicking show proves that some things do get better with age. Concert-goers have the chance to see these legends perform live, singing their hits as only they know how. Many newer bands have imitated these '60s bands, but no one can make the music sound like the originals. This production gives everyone the chance to hear these stars one more time.
The show does not rely on nostalgia. Instead, the concert allows new and old audiences to hear beloved music in a new context. Everything that was old is new again during the Sixties Spectacular concert.
As a bonus, this concert is family-friendly. Fans should feel comfortable bringing three or four generations to the performance. The kids and grandma will all find something to love.
Fans of quality, high-energy music will also appreciate LCD Soundsystem and U2.
