Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1956, Sharon Isbin would learn guitar starting at the age of nine while in Varese, Italy, and from there would grow and evolve into one of the most respected, talented, and beloved guitarists of all time. While perfecting her craft, she also pursued a musical education which resulted in her graduating with a BA Cum Laude from Yale University while also earning herself a Master of Music from Yale School of Music. She released her first album in 1978 as the aptly titled Sharon Isbin Classical Guitar, leaving no surprises as to what the contents of what the music was, but surprising all in just how incredible it was. She continued releasing wonderfully solid albums over the years and sticking to the simple names for her albums such as Sharon Isbin Classical Guitar II, Sharon Isbin Spanish Works for Guitar, and Sharon Isbin Guitar Recital. Since her first album she has released and been a part of 25 albums, winning Grammy Awards for quite a few and being nominated for even more. She has also been a soloist in over 170 orchestras around the world, has shared the stage with a multitude of famous artists, and was even the founder of Juilliard's guitar department.
It has been apparent from Sharon's very first release that she was a legend in the making, with music that would live on for years.
