Shambhala Music Festival Grounds
'For four days each August, the Shambhala Music Festival comes to the Salmo River Ranch in the wilds of beautiful British Columbia. Featuring the best acts in the electronic music industry, this soulful gathering is a beautiful blend of art, music, nature, organic food and what the festival goers call Shambhalove.'
'
The very first Shambhala Music Festival was a humble gathering of just 500 people on the banks of the Salmo River. Now, it's one of the longest-running electronic music festivals in Canada, hosting more than 10,000 attendees each year.
Run by the Bundschuh family, the Shambhala Music Festival is entirely family-run and volunteer-based; the festival organizers make it a point to accept no corporate sponsorship so that the festival can be a true and organic reflection of the people who attend.
''
Spread across four days, the Shambhala Music Festival features dozens of renowned electronic music artists playing on six different stages. Past performers at the festival include A.Skillz, Zomboy, Bonobo, Mix Master Mike, Datsik, Pretty Lights, Skrillex, Lynx and many others.
The Shambhala Music Festival features not only music, but also an extensive artisan's market with more than 40 vendors of beautiful crafts. The festival also brings a variety of food and drink vendors on site for the convenience of its attendees.

The Shambhala Music Festival features acts on six different stages. Because of the festival's nature, tickets are general admission only so that spectators can freely move between the six stages, each of which has its own unique theme and vibe curated by its own dedicated Stage Director. The six stages include the Pagoda, the Village, the Fractal Forest, the Living Room, the Amphitheatre and The Grove.
The Shambhala Music Festival Grounds are located on a 500-acre working farm in the West Kootenay mountains. Situated on the banks of the Salmo River, this beautiful, wild property offers camping grounds for concert-goers. Each August, this peaceful farm turns into a temporary city as electronic music lovers from across the country and beyond come to pitch tents and enjoy incredible talent.
''Out here in the wilds of British Columbia, it's best to embrace the nature and schedule all of your activities around it. Head up to Salmo to enjoy the serenity of Erie Creek Provincial Park or turn your wheels west towards the much larger Stagleap Provincial Park, where you just might glimpse an endangered mountain caribou or even a grizzly bear. If you're looking for other concert venues where you can lose yourself in the music, you might not find much out here in rural British Columbia, although Nelson is home to the Royal on Baker, which offers live music. For larger shows, head west to Vancouver and check out the Commodore Ballroom.'
