The Mariners are one of 5 MLB teams that have never won a World Series and the only team to have never played in a World Series championship. But they also hold the American League record for most wins during a regular season. The team has put things together well during 2024 and fans are hoping to see them at the top of the AL West this year.
Historically, the Seattle Mariners have been the perpetual underdogs with big hearts. Founded in 1977, the Seattle Mariners have won 1 division title but have yet to win an American League Pennant and advance to the World Series games. Their biggest division rivals are the Houston Astros.

The Seattle Mariners play at T-Mobile Park, which opened south of downtown Seattle, Washington, in 1999, and has a seating capacity of 47,929. T-Mobile Park is a uniquely beautiful ballpark that has been well cared for and still feels new. The exterior is a retro-classic, modern-industrial mash up with red brick and large windows on the third base side meeting exposed black steel trusses on the first base side which match the steel arches of the retractable roof. The interesting part about the roof is that it doesn’t enclose the ballpark, but functions more as an umbrella to keep some of the open-air ballpark feeling. T-Mobile Park is an excellent place to see a baseball game, with great views of the action from all angles. There’s not a bad seat in the house and the bleacher seats out in left and center field even have padded backs! For the most picturesque views choose the upper deck seats in right field, and visit the open, upper deck concourses where you can see the Seattle skyline and Space Needle, or catch a gorgeous sunset over Puget Sound during evening games. The main concourse is open to the field and there are more innovative standing room options and social gathering spaces than any other ballpark. The videoboard is one of the largest in the Majors. Be sure to check out The Pen which puts you up close and personal with pitchers warming up in the bullpen. You’ll find many public art displays throughout the park and be sure to visit the Baseball Museum of the Pacific Northwest, filled with artifacts from baseball history and home to the Mariners Hall of Fame. T-Mobile Park is one of the most fan friendly venues in sports and that includes amazing food and craft beer. The park was ranked No.2 on USA Today’s Best MLB Ballpark Food 2024 list. There’s a laid-back atmosphere in the park and it’s family friendly too, with a jungle gym for the kids near center field. There’s a lot to see and do (and eat) at T-Mobile park, so go early to enjoy it all.

The Seattle Mariners are part of the American League West along with the Houston Astros, the Los Angeles Angels, the Oakland Athletics, and the Texas Rangers. The Mariners have an ongoing division rivalry with the Astros.
Notable current Seattle Mariners players include center fielder Julio Rodriguez, ranked No. 10 on the MLB Top 100 Players 2024, who became the first player in MLB history to hit at least 25 homers and steal at least 25 bases in both of his first 2 seasons; starting pitcher Luis Castillo finished fifth in AL Cy Young voting in 2023, and threw strikeout No. 1,300 of his career in August 2024, making him only the 24th active pitcher to reach that threshold; catcher Cal Raleigh has been an incredibly valuable player for the M’s in 2024. He’s leading the team in home runs (30), and runs batted in (93), and looking to become the first catcher in Mariners history to lead in plate appearances; and outfielder Randy Arozarena has guaranteed himself his fourth, 20 home run, 20 stolen bases season in a row. He's only the second person in the League to ever accomplish this, and the only player who has managed to hit 20-20 in each of his first 4 MLB seasons.
According to a recent survey, Seattle Mariners fans are the least hated MLB fans and are considered the most well behaved fans in the MLB. There’s no way around it, Mariners fans have suffered through a lot of bad baseball, in one of the best home ballparks in the MLB. The Mariners have never won a Pennant and are the only MLB team left that’s never attended a World Series game. If you look at the T-Mobile park attendance in relation to the team’s record, you’ll understand exactly how loyal the Mariners die-hard fan base really is. Yes, they tend to be a more laid-back, chill crowd overall, but they have big love for their city and their baseball team. Fans point to ownership as the root of the Mariners problems. Crowds are still decent at T-Mobile Park, the team has some star players, and hopes remain high that the Mariners will top the AL West again soon, and finally bring home the Pennant. Buy Seattle Mariners tickets on StubHub and go enjoy a fun game with a friendly crowd at one of the nicest ballparks in Major League Baseball.
There are 8 Seattle Mariners in the National Baseball Hall of Fame as of 2024: Gaylord Perry, Dick Williams, Rich Gossage, Rickey Henderson, Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martínez and Adrian Beltré.
The Seattle Mariners are quite good at creating unique, fun experiences at T-Mobile park and they know when to pick up on a good thing to help it go viral. Like the “Rally Shoe Guy” of 2022 who put a Birkenstock on his head, starting a new in-park superstition that season that landed his shoe a spot in the Mariners Hall of Fame. But in 2024 the team really went viral with “Hotdogs From Heaven”. At the beginning of the season, they had an in-game promotion where they threw over 200 hotdogs out into the crowd on small parachutes, with the song “Heaven Is A Place On Earth” playing in the background. It sounds simple, but a lot of planning went into the idea, making sure the parachutes were the right size for the hotdogs, that the packages would stay in one piece when thrown, and they needed a lot of people power to assemble all the dogs and keep them warm before the big toss. But what fun it was! It was received so well that they repeated the hot dog extravaganza multiple times during the 2024 season, much to the crowd’s delight. “Seattle’s a little weird, so let’s make our game entertainment a little weird, too.” said Tyler Thompson, senior manager of experiential marketing for the team. According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, roughly 20 million hot dogs are eaten at ballparks each season, but do any taste quite as delicious as a Seattle hotdog from heaven?
