Sara Lynn Evans came by her love of music and performing honestly. She grew up in a musically inclined family and spent a great deal of her early life either performing with them or on her own. In addition to writing songs, Evans has released a number of studio albums, one of which,
Born to Fly
, received a double-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Although her music is labeled as neotraditionalist country, a number of her singles made the crossover to the

''When she was 8 years old, a car hit her in front of her house, breaking both of her legs in several places. Even though she remained in a wheelchair for many months while recuperating, Evans continued to sing in order to help pay for her medical bills. Eventually, she began doing a regular gig at a local nightclub when she was only 16. Called The Sara Evans Show, she performed at the nightclub for two years until Nashville came calling.'

''Evans has a great sense of humor and will entertain the audience with stories of her family life. Her traditional country style works surprisingly well for some covers of popular songs, including Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Edwin McCain's I Could Not Ask for More. Of course, she sings many of her own hits as well. Her voice's capacity to produce both gentle vibrato and powerful sounds serves her well in a live setting.'
'Evans became acquainted with Harlan Howard, a well-known songwriter from Nashville. He liked how she sang, so Evans did a demo of his song called Tiger by the Tail. That meeting led to him eventually helping her get a recording contract with RCA Nashville.'
