San Juan events

San Juan is the largest city in Puerto Rico and its capital. Dating from the 1500s, it is the oldest city under United States jurisdiction, so you know the culture here runs deep. The result melds Spanish, African, Taíno and American cultural influences into a vibrant community with a unique identity all its own.

San Juan venues

San Juan is known for its especially lively nightlife scene, with dozens of bars and discotheques open late all across the city. Some of the most popular spots to enjoy live music and other entertainment include Club 77, the Nuyorican Cafe, Rumors, Handlebar and La Respuesta.

One of the most popular venues in the city of San Juan is the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseo de Puerto Rico, the island's largest entertainment arena. Located along San Juan's Golden Mile, the Coliseo plays host to a variety of exciting entertainment options, from massive concerts and athletic events to theatrical productions.

Fans of baseball may enjoy seeing the Cangrejeros de Santurce (or, in English, the Santurce Crabbers) take the baseball diamond at Hiram Bithorn Stadium. San Juan has four other baseball teams as well as one basketball team, the Leones de Ponce.
