San Francisco Giants FAQs:

Where do the San Francisco Giants play?

The San Francisco Giants play at Oracle Park, which opened in San Franciso, California, in 2000, and has a seating capacity of 42,300. Oracle Park is a fantastic, waterfront ballpark that lands near the top of all the best MLB ballpark lists. Its retro-classic, red brick and steel exterior has arched windows, two clock towers, and a charm that fits in perfectly with the historic buildings of the surrounding China Basin neighborhood. Oracle Park has a reputation as a pitcher’s park with some unusual inner dimensions that were set by the shape of McCovey Cove. The park is open beyond the outfield to showcase stunning views of San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge. The waterfront setting gives unique options to those attending and fans take ferries, water taxis, boats and kayaks to the game. Fans also sit out in their boats, hoping to retrieve a “splash hit” homerun from over the right field wall. The Giants have an electric counter with a running tally of splash hits to date. In 25 seasons at Oracle Park, no right-handed batter had ever had a splash hit, until September 2024 when Heliot Ramos became the first righty to splash down in McCovey Cove. And after every Giants home run, the long-standing, familiar foghorn sounds in celebration. There’s a public waterfront promenade behind right field and 5 arched openings where people are welcome to watch the game free, for 3 innings. Bleacher seats out in left field offer an old-school ballpark experience. The Fan Lot area behind the bleachers is fun for the kids and includes an 80-foot-tall Coca-Cola bottle with inner slides and lights that flash when a Giant hits a homer. To the bottle’s right is a 25-foot-tall replica of a 1927 baseball glove, and to its left you’ll find “Little Giants Park”, a mini-Oracle Park for the kids to let loose, complete with a mini-Jumbotron screen. At the main gates of 24 Willie Mays Plaza, you’ll find a nine-foot-tall statue of the legend himself, surrounded by 24 palm trees. Look for historical plaques and statues of famous Giants throughout the park. Oracle Park is also known for having fantastic food (beyond the well-known garlic fries) and was ranked No. 1 on USA Today’s Best MLB Food 2024 list. Oracle Park also has a unique, premium space called the Gotham Club behind the right field scoreboard that features a speakeasy, games room, billiards, bowling, and a private view of batting practice. The park is extremely well kept and has seen multiple rounds of renovations in recent years, including recent upgrades to enhance the sound and lighting system. Oracle Park is sure to remain one of the MLB’s most impressive ballparks for years to come.
