Roseland Theater
The Roseland Theater is located in a historic building in Portland that was erected in 1922 as the Apostolic Faith Church. Larry Hurwitz converted the building into a music venue called Starry Night in 1982, and it became a well-known stage for popular musical acts. In 1990, the publicity agent of the club disappeared, and suspicion centered on Hurwitz. Hurwitz sold Starry Night in 1991, stating that the venue had lost support within the music industry. Hurwitz was later convicted of the murder. The building was eventually sold to Double Tee, who renovated the building and renamed it Roseland Theater. Today, the theater is a popular music venue in Portland and features a large main floor with standing room only and a balcony upstairs.
