By the 2019 festival, 25 of the top barbecue purveyors in Texas were serving their specialties at the festival. The first year, 1500 hungry music fans enjoyed the festival in T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza in downtown Tyler. In 2019, 6000 people attended the Red Dirt Music & BBQ Festival. The festival sells out every year.
