An alumnus of the University of Portland, Coach Loomis is known as one of the most decorated players throughout the history of the baseball program and is a member of the University of Portland Athletic Hall of Fame. Joe Etzel Field is well-known around the country as the home Loomis built. This is due to Geoff Loomis' many accomplishments during his time as a player on the team in 1990-1992.
