When it opened in the 1970s, this venue was called the Pine Knob Music Theatre. Many locals still use the name today, sometimes referring to it as simply The Knob. Now renamed the DTE Energy Music Theatre, it boasts being one of the most-used amphitheaters in the US. David Cassidy, then teen-idol, was one of the first concerts offered at the theater. What's the seating capacity of DTE Energy Music Theatre?

The amphitheater has a seating capacity of 15,274 people. There are five seating zones, including a lawn section. Excluding the lawn, most of the seating areas are covered by a large, fixed canopy. This is handy when the occasional thunderstorm pops up. Lawn seating tickets tend to be cheaper, but you might want to bring a blanket to sit on.

The closest seats are located in Section A nearest the stage. Here, you'll be nearly face-to-face with performers. If you prefer a more laid-back experience, throwing a blanket down on the lawn and taking in the views while enjoying the music is a great alternative.
