'David Brock has spent more than two decades embodying the spirit of the late Jim Morrison, making his cover act Wild Child a must-see for fans who weren't lucky enough to see Rock & Roll Hall of Famers The Doors in their '60s heyday.'
'When a college-aged Dave Brock landed the role of Jim Morrison in a production of The Jim Morrison Rock Opera, Wild Child was born. The success of the role led Brock to headline shows in which he started bringing the music of The Doors to life with a full band in tow. Wild Child concert tickets first went on sale for a performance at the famed Whisky a Go Go club on L.A.'s Sunset Boulevard in the summer of 1986. The show gained critical acclaim and the group began touring internationally with the act.'
'When producer/director Robert Zemeckis was scouting talent for Death Becomes Her, he zeroed in on David Brock. After hearing about Wild Child's performances, he asked their frontman to play the role of Jim Morrison in his 1992 film.'
'Replicating even the most minute details, Wild Child has pored over hundreds of hours of concert footage from the '60s, recreating those performances right down to the very outfits worn by the original band. Wild Child have even caught the attention of the band that launched their act. In 2010, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors asked Brock to join them on tour. Brock still plays shows with them today when not working with Wild Child.'
'In 2003 and 2004, Wild Child returned to the venue where it all began - the Whisky a Go Go - to record their first and only live CD. The 22-track album features many popular Doors hits, and even some songs from later albums that were never performed with Morrison.'
'Fans of Wild Child might also enjoy the tribute bands The Musical Box (Genesis) or The Machine (Pink Floyd).'
