The five-piece outfit of Anthony Thogmartin, Mike Healy, Rob McConnell, and brothers Billy and Sam Brouse was founded in 2006 in Athens, Ohio. Now based in Asheville, N.C., the group spends much of its time headlining the summer festival circuit. Past festival appearances include the Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pa., the Imagine Music Festival in Hampton, Ga., and Ohio's Resonance Music and Arts Festival. Another significant live performance was their 10-Year Anniversary Show in 2016, for which the band played its sophomore full-length album, Observations, in its entirety.
Papadosio's reputation as a touring band is augmented by a series of well-received studio recordings, the first of which, the debut album Margreenery, was released in 2007. The band received its warmest critical reviews for 2009's Observations, and in 2012 released the epic T.E.T.I.O.S. (To End the Illusion of Separation), which featured 20 songs over two discs, an achievement almost three years in the making. The band's most recent release, Pattern Integrities (2016), showcases a heady, instrumental vibe.
