''The Oshawa Generals traces its team history to 1937. Playing in the Ontario Hockey League, the team is named after its original sponsor, General Motors. Right from the start, this team was winning league championships. During the 1950s, the Generals had a setback, disbanding temporarily after a fire at its arena. However, by the 1960s, the Generals were back in a big way, thanks, in particular, to a young Bobby Orr. Over the years, the Oshawa Generals continued to make a big impact in the OHL. Eric Lindros joined the team in 1989 and led the Generals to another Memorial Cup. During the course of its career, the Oshawa Generals have also won the OHL championship several times. The team has claimed the J. Ross Robertson Cup 13 times. On its way to the 2015 OHL championship, the Generals won 51 games and defeated its long-time rival, the Peterborough Petes, in the playoffs. The team is still as vital as ever, so don’t wait to get your Oshawa Generals tickets at StubHub.'

''Yes, the Oshawa Generals have won five Memorial Cups, more than any other team in the Canadian Hockey League. The team claimed its first Memorial Cup back in 1939 and followed it with a second in 1940. It also won the championship in 1944 and 1990. The Generals won its most recent Memorial Cup in 2015.'
'Almost 200 former Oshawa Generals have gone on to play hockey in the NHL. These include several NHL Hall of Famers. Real impact players like Dave Andreychuk, Alex Delvecchio, Eric Lindros, Bobby Orr and John Tavares played junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals.'

The Oshawa Generals have a long-standing rivalry with the
Peterborough Petes
. Both of these junior teams are located in Central Ontario, and they've faced off against each other over 400 times. Things often get heated between these teams, and during the 1980s, they engaged in more than one brawl. Located just about an hour's drive away from one another, it's always interesting when the Petes and the Generals meet up.
