'In its second century of basketball, the Nevada Wolf Pack is a team on the rise and an annual threat to make it to the postseason. Now, the expectation in Reno is that the Wolf Pack will be at the top of the Mountain West Conference as it has won three regular-season titles in a row. In fact, the Wolf Pack achieved its highest ranking ever when it appeared at No. 5 in the polls in 2018. Now, big-time playing and coaching talents are making their way to Reno, and the Wolf Pack has an outstanding record playing on its home court. In 2019, the Wolf Pack is beginning a new era in its basketball history with a first-year head coach, albeit one who is hardly new to an NCAA sideline. Nevada is replacing some talent, but Steve Alford can win recruiting battles to gain the talent that's needed. Grab your Nevada Wolf Pack tickets at StubHub today.'
'The Wolf Pack has had a number of players make the NBA over the years. One of the more recognizable names recently is that of JaVale McGee, who was a valuable backup on the Golden State Warriors' title squads. Ramon Sessions also played for 11 years as a point guard in the NBA before going overseas, and Luke Babbitt was drafted in the first round out of Nevada in 2010.'
'The Wolf Pack has now appeared in the Sweet Sixteen twice in the history of the program. Nevada first made the Sweet Sixteen in 2004, and it returned again in 2008. It now has a string of three consecutive years in the Big Dance, and the team has won a total of six games in March Madness as a program.'
'Steve Alford is the head coach of the Wolf Pack. Alford first achieved fame playing under Bob Knight at Indiana University. When he was there, he won an NCAA championship as a player. He has also coached at New Mexico and, most recently, was the leader of the storied UCLA Bruins. Alford is in his first year in Reno, having taken over for Eric Musselman after he left to coach the Arkansas Razorbacks.'
'The Wolf Pack plays at Lawlor Events Center, which seats just over 11,500 spectators. The student section is boisterous, and it is known as the Blue Crew. As the team has risen to the top of the Mountain West Conference, Nevada Wolf Pack basketball tickets have become in demand. The Wolf Pack broke a school record for attendance in the 2018-2019 season. One of the more unique Wolf Pack fan traditions is that the students will chant the Rudyard Kipling poem titled The Law of the Jungle before each home game.'

The Wolf Pack competes in the Mountain West Conference. Many fans on the East Coast are not familiar with the basketball hotbed that the MWC has become. Teams in the conference, including
San Diego State
and the
University of Nevada Las Vegas
, are some of the top programs in the country. While the conference is described as a mid-major conference, MWC teams on any given night can vanquish a foe from a power conference and it would not be considered an upset.
