''The Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team has a history that goes back to the early part of the 20th century. However, despite some early successes in this era, the women's athletic program for basketball wasn't recognized as an official college sport until 1970. Five years after that, the university started offering scholarships to female athletes for playing basketball. Many figures at the university consider this point to be the official beginning of the modern era of women's basketball at Nebraska. Despite some instability after first head coach George Nicodemus left the program in 1971, the team kept its head above water until the arrival of Angela Beck in 1986 gave the program the stability it needed. Beck's skills improved the team and led to three NCAA appearances over her tenure as head coach. The women's basketball team struggled a bit after Connie Yori became its coach. However, Yori went on to improve the team through recruiting drives and bring victories to the team until 2016. Grab your women's Cornhuskers tickets at StubHub.'
