The NCAA Tournament has seen so many great moments over the years, but one of the best was surely when NC State beat Houston for the National Championship in 1983. Houston was a huge favorite coming into the matchup, a powerhouse that looked nearly unbeatable. However, the heroics of Derek Wittenberg and a last-minute basket saw the Wolfpack pull off the huge upset and defeat the Cougars. The image of NC State head coach Jim Valvano running around the court looking for someone to hug quickly became an iconic moment in the history of the tournament.
