Located in Western United States, Montana is often referred to as the Land of the Shining Mountains or The Last Best Place. Bordering Canada, it's known for its immense natural beauty and numerous National Parks. While moving into the Metropolitan areas, the three largest cities include Billings, Missoula and Great Falls. Although big Montana cities can feel like small towns, that is the appeal of this wild and free state.
Montana has a very rich history in terms of its settlers, in addition to its Native American culture. Today, this state is incredibly diverse, contributing to its long history of folk, classical and country music. Following a long line of talented musicians, John Mayer re-settled in Montana after visiting Bozeman, near the Rocky Mountains. This inspired his album, Paradise Valley.
With its incredible landscape, many people enjoy festivals across Montana, such as the three-day rock festival, Rockin' the Rivers Music Fest. Named after the nearby historic site, Travelers' Rest also takes place in Missoula, Montana, and offers a wide range of musical acts.
Although there are no major league teams in Montana, there are minor league baseball and hockey teams. In Missoula, the Osprey entertain baseball fans at Allegiance Field, while the Montana Grizzlies can be found at the Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
