''The baseball program at the University of Missouri dates back to April 3, 1868. On that date, with no guidance from faculty or administration, a group of Missouri students put together several baseball teams. The first game was witnessed by only 300 fans as the University of Missouri students took on citizens from Columbia, Mo. It wasn't until 1890 that the university began to officially sponsor the baseball program and another 17 seasons before the Missouri Tigers baseball team had their own stadium at which to play their home games. The Tigers were initially members of the Big Six Conference and remained there through the conference's evolution to the Big 12. The early 2000s were good to the Missouri Tigers, as the team made seven consecutive trips to the College World Series between 2003 and 2009. In 2013, the Tigers became members of the South Eastern Conference and have been a part of the Eastern Division since then. You can get your tickets today to see the Missouri Tigers at StubHub.'

The Missouri Tigers have an intense, albeit young, rivalry with SEC East foe, the
Kentucky Wildcats
. While there's no definitive answer on how this rivalry got started, it has certainly grown intense. Missouri also has an in-state rival with Missouri State. While the teams aren't conference rivals, they do battle for supremacy within the state of Missouri.
