The love of baseball runs deep in the city of Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Brewers have performed at the top, or near the top of their division for years, and the current lineup is performing beyond expectations. It's an exciting time to be a Brewers fan with hopes that the team can ride this momentum through to a division win, followed by a deep playoff run this season.
The Milwaukee Brewers spent one season in Seattle (Seattle Pilots) before relocating to Milwaukee. They are the only franchise to have played in 4 different MLB divisions (AL West, AL East, AL Central, NL Central). Founded in 1969, the Milwaukee Brewers have won 6 division titles (2 AL East and 4 NL Central), 1 American League Pennant, and have appeared in 1 World Series game, which they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers have had an ongoing rivalry with the Chicago Cubs, known as the I-94 Rivalry, since they moved to the NL Central division in 1998.
Going to a Milwaukee Brewers home game is a lot of fun and American Family Field is a fantastic place to watch a game. From the tailgating pregame parties, to the Walk of Fame, Sausage Racing, and all the activities available for kids, it’s a great day out at the ballpark.

The Milwaukee Brewers play at American Family Field, which opened in 2001, just west of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a seating capacity of 41,900. American Family Field is a unique mix of retro ballpark style meets futuristic aesthetics. The old school red brick exterior features tall arched windows and an old-fashioned clock tower before giving way to the graceful steel arches of its fan-shaped, retractable roof, which can be opened or closed in about 10 minutes. Sliding glass walls allow additional light inside and can be opened independent of the roof. There are 4 separate levels of tiered seating so that all seats could be placed as close to the field as possible. Go early and visit the Wall of Honor, the Walk of Fame, and see the Selig Experience. American Family Field is a reasonably priced, family friendly, and fan friendly park that goes out of its way to make Brewers games enjoyable. There are 3 designated Family Sections in the park where no alcohol is allowed and if you are bringing the kids, visit the interactive playground with everything from pitching speed tests to face painting. During games, when a Brewer hits a home run, the team’s mascot, Bernie the Brewer, leaves his Dugout high above left-field and slides down a 30-foot-long yellow slide in celebration. And the famed “sausage race” at the bottom of the sixth inning is truly a sight to see! American Family Field is a fantastic destination to catch a baseball game and one of the few MLB parks that allows tailgating before the game. The parking areas overflow with fans, food, and fun. Inside the park there are WI focused food choices like brats, beer cheese soup, and beer battered walleye, alongside Asian fusion, tacos, and BBQ. A deal reached with Brewers ownership and the state of Wisconsin in November 2023 provided funding that will see upgrades to American Family Field happening through to 2050, ensuring the stadium remains a fan favorite for years to come.

The Milwaukee Brewers are part of the National League Central along with the Chicago Cubs, the Cincinnati Reds, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers have had an ongoing division rivalry with the Cubs since moving to the NL Central in 1998. With their ballparks just over 80 miles apart from each other via Interstate 94, fan territories meet in the middle, keeping things interesting!
Notable current Milwaukee Brewers players include relief pitcher Devin Williams, a two-time NL Reliever of the Year award recipient who has come storming back from an early season injury; star catcher William Contreras is a Silver Slugger Award winner known for his hitting and on base streaks; shortstop Willy Adames is having his second season in a row with 30 plus home runs, and is logging career-highs for RBIs; and rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio has quickly proven himself, becoming one of the League’s best hitters this season, with a power speed sprint that’s the thirteenth fastest in the MLB.
For many Milwaukee Brewers fans, baseball is a family affair. The game is always on the radio, or TV, in the background at home. Kids that grew up going to games at Milwaukee County Stadium now take their own kids to American Family Field. And Brew Crew fans are like a family with each other. They create the best tailgating experience in Major League Baseball before every home game with live music, great BBQ, and games for all ages. American Family Field was built specifically with tailgating in mind and these fans know how to bring the party. Brewers fans have seen their share of ups and downs, but the team has been performing at, or near, the top of their division for years now, keeping playoff hopes alive. Fans are excited to see where 2024 will lead. With some incredible young players and the whole team outperforming expectations, fans are stoked by the possibility of a deep playoff run. Milwaukee fans are friendly, but rowdy, so consider the designated family sections if you’re bringing the kids. It’s an exciting time to be a Brewers fan! Buy Milwaukee Brewers tickets on StubHub and go experience the excitement yourself.
There are 7 Milwaukee Brewers in the National Baseball Hall of Fame as of 2023: Hank Aaron, Rollie Fingers, Don Sutton, Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Trevor Hoffman, and Ted Simmons.
The Milwaukee Brewers have a unique tradition at the bottom of the sixth inning during every home game. It’s the Famous Racing Sausages! The sausages began as scoreboard animations in the early 90s and then stepped out “live” in June 1993, with people in 7-foot-tall sausage costumes sprinting down the warning track and onto the field. Live racing started off with 3 sausage characters and 2 more sausages have been added over the years as their popularity has continued. The 5 Famous Racing Sausages are known as “Brat”, “Italian”, “Polish”, “Hot Dog”, and “Chorizo”. Over the years, players, sports journalists, and other celebrities have all raced in the sausage costumes. The Brewers also host the Annual 5K & 10K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk with proceeds benefitting the Brewers Community Foundation, Fisher House Wisconsin, and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.
