''The Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team is a member of the NCAA's Atlantic Coast Conference. The first year of play for the program was the 1972-1973 season. The team was 2-6 under coach Barry Schimer in its first year and went 16-15 during Schimer's three years as head coach. The women's basketball team at Miami University was invited to its first NCAA appearance in 1989 and has appeared in the tournament a total of 14 times. The Hurricanes advanced to the second round of the tournament seven times and its most successful tournament run was in 1992 when the team advanced to the Sweet Sixteen round. The Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team emerged as regular-season Big East conference champions in 1992 and 1993 with 18-0 and 15-3 conference records, respectively. University of Pittsburgh
. Miami lost to

in the first round of the ACC Tournament on March 4.
''Senior forward Beatrice Mompremier started 32 games for the Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team as a junior and earned honorable mention All-American honors from the Associated Press. Mompremier's high-point game for the 2019-2020 season was the 31 points she scored against DePaul University on November 23, 2019. Mompremier is averaging 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds this season. Mykea Gray is a junior guard who played her high school basketball at the National Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro, Md. Gray is one of three current Hurricanes who played in each of the team's 34 games in 2018-2019. Gray is averaging 12.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in the 2019-2020 season. Her high-point game for the season is the 27 points she scored against the Duke Blue Devils on February 9.'
'The 2019-2020 season is the 15th for Katie Meier as head coach of the Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team. Before the start of the current season, Meier earned 277 victories while coaching the Hurricanes and won 20 games in a season nine times. Four of Meier's players have been drafted by WNBA teams after their career at Miami University was finished, and Meier was named AP Coach of the Year in 2011.'
'Chanivia Broussard led the Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team in scoring both her freshman and sophomore years at the school. She ended her four years at the school with 1,482 points. This point total is the seventh all-time for the program. Broussard is also third in school history with 132 blocks and seventh in made field goals with 621. Chanivia Broussard was named an ACC Basketball Legend in 2011. Octavia Blue played for the Miami Hurricanes from 1995-1998 and scored 1,724 points as a Hurricane. Blue averaged 19.2 points per game and grabbed 5.7 rebounds per contest during her senior year. She also shot 45% from the 3 point range. Blue was honored her senior year with first-team Big East honors and was a third-team All-American selection. Blue averaged 15.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game over her career with the Hurricanes.'
