The talented musician immigrated to the United States from Ireland when he was just 19-years-old. Winning a Green Card lottery, the young singer landed in New York, realizing quickly that it was going to be many years before he had the chops and the stomach for the New York City music scene. He honed his skills in his brother Karl Geary's bar-the legendary Sin-é Café, which provided the creative atmosphere Geary needed to start his music career. He supported himself through a series of bartending jobs, devoting his free time to writing songs and performing at open mic nights. He drew inspiration from The Beatles, Nick Drake, Radiohead and Van Morrison and was soon gaining the attention of audiences and fellow musicians. He's played alongside Jeff Buckley, Joe Strummer, and Elvis Costello. His debut album was extremely well-received, and he's been creating great music ever since.
