Majestic Theatre Dallas
'
Located in Dallas' City Center District, the Majestic Theatre has been presenting a multitude of entertainment since being built in 1920. With its grand design that spanned many blocks, the Majestic Theatre was one of the largest of the theaters on Theater Row. It hosted performances from acts like Bob Hope and Houdini as well as premiered movies with celebrities, such as John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Gregory Peck. Later, the theater began presenting live performances by musicians, such as Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway. For a while, however, the Majestic Theatre only showed movies with films starring male actors. After closing in 1973, the theater was reopened 10 years later and has since changed that policy. It now hosts a variety of entertainment, like plays, pageants and performances by entertainers like
Carlos Rivera
,
Eddie Izzard
and
John Cusack
