The Laugh Factory is an enormously successful comedy club that is nationally recognized as one of the best in the business. This top-notch venue has been named “Number One Comedy Club in the Country” by the prestigious USA Today. Opened in 1979, The Laugh Factory quickly became the place for comedians both established and emerging to be seen on stage.

Laugh Factory background

The Laugh Factory was founded by comedian Jamie Masada, who has been called “The Real King of Comedy” by the New York Daily News. Masada is credited with helping launch the careers of many of today’s hottest comedians and has produced comedy franchises for both film and television, including Daman Wayan’s movie, Behind the Smile, which was filmed on location at the Hollywood location of the Laugh Factory. The Laugh Factory has several locations, including one in Chicago, one in Las Vegas, one in Scottsdale, and two in southern California.

Some of the greatest comedians in the country have brought down the house with laughter from the stage at the Laugh Factory, including Tim Allen, Nick Cannon, Roseanne Barr, Jim Carey, Brad Garrett, Jeff Foxworthy and Jeff Dunham, among many others.

Laugh Factory notable moments

Daman Wayans was once fined $20 for each slur and banned from performing at the Laugh Factory for using a racial slur sixteen times in a twenty-minute act. Though Wayans was initially banned for three months as punishment, he was back on stage after only one month.

In 2010, the Laugh Factory broke a Guinness World Record. The record was for Longest Continuous Stand Up Comedy Show. The Laugh Factory stage kept the jokes coming for an amazing 80 hours, breaking the previously held record of 50 hours.
