Called a future star by BBC DJ Pete Tong and listed among Dancing Astronaut's 25 Artists to Watch in 2015, Lane 8 was born Daniel Goldstein in San Francisco, Calif. A house music DJ, musician and electronica producer, he released his debut album
Rise
in the summer of 2015. Shortly afterward, Lane 8 began producing music on his own record label, This Never Happened. Under this label, Lane 8 performed several tours, playing venues like Zoo Project in Sydney, Australia; The Fonda in Los Angeles, Calif.; and Warsaw in New York, N.Y. These days, Lane 8 makes his music out of Denver, Colo.

The name Lane 8 is a reference to a faux garage band he and his sister formed as children. He first came to prominence by releasing songs on the SoundCloud streaming music-sharing platform. In addition to his two studio albums, two compilation albums and five extended plays, he's also released more than 15 remixes of singles by artists like ODESZA, Le Youth, Chris Isaak, Spandau Ballet, RUFUS, Icarus and deadmau5. He's also released dozens of DJ mixtapes, including several in The Anjunadeep Edition series, and seasonal mixtapes every year since the winter of 2013. Lane 8 released his second studio album,
