Lakewood BlueClaws Tickets

The Lakewood BlueClaws were the product of multiple relocations before the 2001 season. In 1987, the Fayetteville Generals were the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and called Fayetteville N.C. home. For 10 years, Fayetteville was home to the Generals, and the team made three playoff appearances over that time. Before the 1997 season got underway, the team underwent two changes: they became the Cape Fear Crocs and became an affiliate of the now-defunct Montreal Expos. The end of the 1990s was very good for the Crocs, as they made three consecutive playoff appearances between 1997 and 1999, including one league finals appearance. After the 2000 season, it was announced that the team would make another move; this time to Lakewood, N.J.. The Expos no longer existed, and the Phillies became the parent organization of the newly formed Lakewood BlueClaws. Nineteen seasons and three league championships later, the BlueClaws are still the Single-A affiliate of the Phillies. Just two years removed from their last league championship finals appearance, the BlueClaws look to get back this season. Get your tickets to see the Lakewood BlueClaws today at StubHub.

Where do the Lakewood BlueClaws play their home games?

FirstEnergy Park, the state-of-the-art home of the Lakewood BlueClaws, opened in time for the 2001 season. The stadium has 6,588 permanent seats but can hold up to 8,000 fans, including the grassy berms beyond the outfield walls. The stadium was the first in New Jersey to feature a wraparound concourse and was the last of eight new stadiums built in the state between 1994 and 2001. In 2018, FirstEnergy park received several new features, including a mini-golf course, beer garden, boardwalk games and several food trucks.

Are there any former Lakewood BlueClaws players in Major League Baseball?

In addition to Phillies legends like Ryan Howard, some of the more recent names that are beloved by Phillies' fans passed through Lakewood on their way to Major League stardom. Players who have made a name for themselves with other Major League teams but are still considered Lakewood alumni include catcher Travis d'Arnaud and Kyle Drabek.

Who is the Lakewood BlueClaws' manager?

Chris Adamson was named the 14th manager in the history of the Lakewood BlueClaws for the 2020 season. Adamson played college baseball at Angelo State University in Texas, where he was a two-time NCAA All-American. Adamson has been a coach with the Australian Baseball League's Adelaide Bite since 2013 and was promoted to manager in 2017. In addition to his work with the Bite, Adamson is also an assistant coach for the Australian National Team and the director of the performance department for Baseball South Australia.

Do the Lakewood BlueClaws have any rivals?

The

Delmarva Shorebirds

are the primary rival for the Lakewood BlueClaws. The Shorebirds are located in close proximity to the BlueClaws, and both teams are members of the Northern Division of the South Atlantic League. Also, the

Columbia Fireflies

are a Lakewood rival, but it has nothing to do with geography, and the teams are in different divisions. This rivalry is more about the Phillies and the parent organization of the Fireflies, the New York Mets.
