LAFC is one of the newest teams in Major League Soccer but is already building up to be a big fan-favorite. In 2014, the MLS announced the birth of a new team that would be joining the ranks of LA’s existing MLS soccer team, the
LA Galaxy
, complete with the construction of a new stadium to house the team. Construction moved quickly, and the MLS soon unveiled the team’s new colors and logo, building even more excitement among LA soccer fans. In 2017, LAFC took part in the MLS expansion draft and signed their first head coach, but it wasn’t until March 4, 2018, that LAFC played their first-ever game, scoring a win against the
Seattle Sounders
on the road. Their first home game was later in April that year. From the beginning, LAFC has had a competitive spirit and great skill. The club qualified for the playoffs in their expansion season and clinched their playoff berth earlier than anyone else during the 2019 season. Join in on the action when you get your LAFC tickets at StubHub.

LAFC plays at the
Banc of California Stadium
near the heart of downtown Los Angeles in the Exposition Park neighborhood. This is an open-air stadium, and in spite of its size, it's an intimate venue. All the seats at the stadium are within 135 feet of the pitch, and the closest seats are just 12 feet from the touchline, giving fans a great view from every seat. The venue seats 22,000 people, and the playing surface is Bermuda grass.
''LAFC is coached by Bob Bradley, who brings over two decades of coaching experience to the table. Bradley is LAFC's first-ever head coach, having helmed the team since their debut in 2018. Bradley was the first American to coach a team in the English Premier League, heading up Swansea City starting in 2016. He has also coached MLS clubs before, including the New York Metrostars. In addition, he led the US National Men's Team to a strong showing in the 2010 World Cup where they won their group. Bradley remains third among all head coaches in US soccer with 43 wins.'
'Despite its short history, LAFC has attracted some of the best players in the league. In 2019, goalkeeper Tyler Miller was one of the key players on the squad. Near the midway point of that season, Miller had racked up six shutouts to tie for second in the league among goalkeepers. In terms of forwards, Diego Rossi has been one of LAFC's standout players with 12 goals in 2018 and 16 goals in 2019. Like Miller, Rossi was on the All-Star ballot in 2019.'
'Predictably, LAFC maintains a rivalry with the other MLS club based in Los Angeles, the LA Galaxy. In fact, the rivalry already has a nickname: El Tráfico. This is a classically LA name for a crosstown rivalry. In 2019, upstart LAFC had the best record in their conference, something that rankled the more well-established Galaxy. Fans of each team are passionate, and things can get heated, especially when the playoffs are on the horizon. Each time these teams face off, fans on both sides of the stands have a lot of boisterous fun. You can be a part of the exciting El Tráfico rivalry when you buy your tickets to LAFC match-ups at StubHub.'
