Kia Oval
The Kia Oval is a cricket ground in south London, and it has long served as the home of the
Surrey County Cricket Club
. The venue has a seating capacity of 25,500, and rugby and soccer matches have also been held at the facilities. Opened in 1845, it sits on what was once the Kennington Common, where cricket matches were often played in the 1700s. In 1844, the Duchy of Cornwall decided to lease the land for a cricket ground, and the home club was established a year later. Many historic international matches have been held at the Kia Oval, which is the first sports arena to have used artificial lighting (in the form of gas lamps). Several renovations have taken place to modernize the facilities, including projects in 2002, 2009 and 2015. Find your Kia Oval tickets at StubHub.
The Oval is close to several public transportation stops. It's a short walk away from the Oval Station on the Northern Line of the London Underground.
