The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which opened in 1971, is located on the Potomac River at 2700 F Street in Washington, DC. The Kennedy Center Opera House offers 2,364 seats with unobstructed views of the stage. It is located on the main level of the Kennedy Center.
The box seats offer supreme views of the stage; however, the best seating can be found a few rows behind the orchestra. There is also a Presidential box where the President sits for performances. Sometimes patrons prefer to sit closer to this box to catch a glimpse.
Children of all ages are welcome and must have a ticket to enjoy performances. It should be noted that if any child becomes disruptive during the performance, they will be asked to leave. You want to make sure the production is appropriate for children before purchasing your tickets.

The closest Metro stop to the Kennedy Center is Foggy Bottom. From there, you can either walk a bit or take the Kennedy Center Shuttle that goes between Foggy Bottom and the Center every 15 minutes during performances.
Just steps away from the Kennedy Center, you will find the National Mall, which is home to the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial.
