Every so often, a band comes along that wows not only its home audiences but also impresses fans around the world. One such band is JYJ, who hail from South Korea. They became one of the biggest bands in South Korea and then began to take on the rest of the world. As soon as they started booking tour dates around the world, their fan base began growing leaps and bounds.
Before JYJ, there was TVXQ, another South Korean. Three members of that band humped ship with TVXQ and formed JYJ. In the spring of 2010, they began making music together, and before long they had developed quite the following. It wasn't long before music critics in Europe and the United States began taking notice of their new and innovative sound.
JYJ released their debut album, The Beginning, in October of 2010. It shot to the top of the Korean charts and then started making headway on the Japanese charts. In the album, they even got the chance to collaborate with more established artists like Kanye West. Their star is only on the rise, and the best way to experience their sound is to see them live in concert.
